Confidentiality
Confidentiality involves protecting your (client) private information. The information you share during therapy (face-to-face or any other means of communications) is private and your therapist will take every measure possible to protect you and the content of your identity, your email address, etc. The information you share will not be available to anyone who does not have a legitimate legal need to know.
There are special circumstances when a therapist MUST legally break your confidentiality. They include:

A therapist are legally bound to notify the authorities in the cases of child abuse (i.e., emotional, physical, or sexual);

If a client makes a serious believable threat to harm themselves or another, and;

In some cases, a court of competent jurisdiction can subpoena information from a therapist.
